Busting the myths of cycling in Brisbane video transcript

This is a transcript of the Busting the myths of cycling in Brisbane video on Council's YouTube account.

In Queensland, there are a number of myths about riding a bike, so let’s bust them like a bike tire on broken glass.

Unless otherwise signed, it’s perfectly legal to ride on the footpath, just as long as you keep to the left and give way to pedestrians.

In fact, the opposite is true. More bikes on our roads means less congestion and a better flow of traffic.

Ok, this one is pure nonsense. You can wear whatever you like when you ride.

And if that’s Lycra, great. If that’s tight jeans and a hipster beard, then so be it.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.

If you have more questions, you can bust your own myths at cyclingbrisbane.com.au
