Brisbane is an excellent place to explore by bike, with an extensive and growing network of bikeways. Some of the city’s best leisure destinations – parks, pools, markets, cafes and nature reserves - are often located along a bikeway. Or just ride along one of our more scenic paths and soak up the pleasure of being outdoors.
If you don’t fancy riding to your chosen route, you can take your bike on CityCats and other Council ferries at all times, and on CityTrains all weekend and out of peak on week days.
Choose from the selection of bikeways and routes that will take you along beachside foreshores, through parklands, nature reserves and beside the Brisbane River. If you don’t have a bike you can still enjoy a leisure ride in the inner areas of the city by hiring a CityCycle bike at one of the many docking stations.
If it’s been awhile since you were out on a bike, join our friendly and experienced trainers to brush up on your riding skills and enjoy a bikeway ride with our Get Fit, Have Fun - Ride a Bike sessions.
If you’re heading out with children, but not sure how it will go, then sign up to one of our free Safe Cycling with Kids workshops. Covers riding with children on your bike, and when they are riding their own bikes.
