BMX racing is also an Olympic sport, and Brisbane has a number of venues where you can practise your skills or learn to ride a BMX bike for fun.
Council has 20 parks across Brisbane offering BMX facilities for fitness, fun and recreation. BMX facilities cater for different skill levels, but generally consist of dirt tracks, with some offering built-up dirt hills and various types of jumps. You can also ride your BMX bike in some Brisbane skate parks.
The Sleeman Sports Complex features a new state of the art BMX Supercross Track. The track includes two start ramps with major double-jumps, step ups and a technical ‘rhythm' section.
Council’s Chillout program also hosts BMX coaching clinics to teach a variety of skills, including skate park etiquette. Whether you're just starting or an expert rider, there are skills sessions catered to all riders as a part of the program.
