Cycling Brisbane is Brisbane City Council’s travel behaviour change program which aims to encourage and support more people to ride, more often.
Since 2014, Cycling Brisbane has supported thousands of people to learn to ride, build confidence and skills to ride throughout Brisbane.
Brisbane City Council will be inviting businesses in the bike coaching industry to support the program through the delivery of skills workshops across Brisbane. Workshops range from kids learning to ride through to bike maintenance and women’s only mountain biking.
All instructors must have the following:
If you would like to be invited to tender for the delivery of specific workshop categories, complete the bike skills provider form.
Cycling Brisbane runs regular bike skills workshops across the city for all ages and abilities – from 5 and up – so there is sure to be something for you.
We use qualified trainers who are very experienced in helping people of all abilities and backgrounds to learn the skills they need to ride a bike where they want to: on bikeways, mountain biking trails or roads. Take a look at the upcoming sessions.

With over twenty-two years of working on bikes and a lot of time spent on the road, Mark from Velo Van can pass on a wealth of experience about repairs and maintenance of all cycle types.
Rather than being handed a bike with a "there you go, see ya" attitude, Mark works to pass on knowledge so that riders understand how to best enjoy their time on their bike. Through clear demonstration and guiding riders with hands-on practice, anyone can maintain their bike from the basic tasks of changing a flat tube to fitting and tuning new gears.
With a true passion for riding in more remote areas like the mountains of Italy, Mark knows more than a few tips to keep a bike rolling regardless of what the mechanical gremlins and the road throw at you.

Roadie Rob has been running his bike school for more than 15 years. He discovered his love for riding at a young age, which developed into a passion for triathlons, where he was an Australian representative for 6 years at the Triathlon World Cup. After competing at a national level, he was often asked for riding advice which is where his passion for coaching started. In his 15 years as a coach, Rob has learned more from beginners than professional riders, and understands that patience is key. His motto as a coach is “smiles are more important than medals.”
